Confirmation
About confirmation
Confirmation, also known as Reaffirmation of Baptismal Faith, provides an opportunity to affirm one's commitment to the promises made in baptism.
If we were baptized as infants or children, our parents or guardians likely made the baptismal promises. Confirmation allows us to give our "yes" to those promises.
What it means
If we have previously been confirmed or were baptized as adults, Reaffirmation of Baptismal Faith allows us to reaffirm the importance of our relationship with God. Sometimes, as our journey of faith unfolds, it is valuable to come back in Christian Community to renew our commitment to God and the Church. While we are baptized just once, we can be confirmed as many times as we wish.
How to get started
Confirmation classes are offered every couple of years as interest warrants. It is also possible to develop a personalized program of study for confirmation.
