Celebrate Christmas With Us

Whoever you are and whatever your story, know that we would be delighted if you would join us to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Our church welcomes all sorts of families – families with kids, families of one, 2SLGBTQIA+ families, single-parent families, blended families, families of choice, extended families, multi-faith families.  Even if you have never set foot before in a Christian church, if you are longing for something more in your life, we encourage you to give us a try.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

Sunday, December 24 at 7 p.m.

A Holy Night

Christmas Eve is one of the most holy nights for us at Trinity. Our beautifully decorated sanctuary sparkles in the light of our Christmas Eve candles as carols fill the air and the ancient story of a baby’s birth reminds us of what is most important both at Christmas and throughout the year.

Peace on Earth

This year, we will hush amid the busyness of the season to listen for the angel song of “Peace on earth, goodwill to all”. While that message is appropriate every year, it feels particularly poignant this year as war rages near Bethlehem. Our service will conclude with a candle-lighting for peace as we take up the angel’s song, going out to work for peace in our homes, in our community and in our world.

Daily Bedtime Prayers

Follow us on social media (“Trinity United Church Listowel” on Facebook or “unitedinnorthperth” on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube) for daily bedtime prayers during Advent.

The lead-up to Christmas can get intense, in both positive and challenging ways, so we are offering a daily short video prayers to help us ground ourselves each evening after whatever our day has held.

Weekly Worship at Christmastime

Our weekly worship during the Advent season (Sundays at 11 a.m. in-person or on YouTube) offers a space to connect with God, with other people and with our deepest selves at a busy time of year.

  • 1st Sunday

    Sunday, December 3

On the first Sunday of Advent we celebrate the sacrament of communion and collect food for the food bank.

  • 2nd Sunday

    Sunday, December 10, 2023

On the second Sunday, we have our white gift service where we collect toys and toiletries for those in need at Christmas and a pop-up pageant where people of all ages are invited to take part in acting out the Christmas story.

  • 3rd & 4th Sunday

Sunday, December 17 and Sunday, December 24 in the morning

We round out the weeks of Advent with a chance to consider what brings us joy at Christmas and how we live love everyday.
