Outside User Groups

Staying true to our open-door policy, Trinity U.C. offers many outside groups in our local community the chance to meet in our building for various purposes - whether it’s for club meetings or recreational activities.

Second Listowel Scouts

Second Listowel Scouts is a division of Scouts Canada. All youth ages 5-14 years old are welcome to join our weekly group meetings of Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Both youth and volunteers can register through Scouts Canada.

How it began

Second Listowel Scouts group was established in 1964 when Trinity became our sponsor and home. Scouter George Gracey was the original Scouts Canada charter who joined our group in 1965 as one of the first Cub Scout leaders. He was our liaison between Trinity and the group from 1965 - 2021.

Meetings

All sections of our group meet every Tuesday between 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. from January - December.

Activities

There are a variety of different activities that happen throughout the year.

  • Youth receive their neckerchief during this ceremony

  • Every October, Scouting youth hand out apples to give back to the community; the apples are free and donations are welcomed but not necessary.

  • Our troop likes to do various camping trips throughout the year.

  • The youth build their own wooden cars using provided kits and race them against other youth.

Meditation Group

Meditation is a form of focussed awareness. It is useful for people of all ages to enhance health, manage stress, improve sleep, increase mental clarity, and develop inner peace. In these weekly sessions, we explore breathing techniques, relaxation, guided imagery, and mindful meditation. It’s open to experienced meditators or newcomers!

Currently, meditation sessions are being conducted via Zoom from 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m; in-person sessions are to resume in 2022.

If you’re interested in attending via Zoom on Thursdays please contact Susan James.
