Creating Opportunities Through Trinity

Our ministries are where our congregation comes together to be a part of Trinity U.C’s “TEAM.” Here, our committees work together to extend care, compassion and worship back into our local community.

Youth Book Club

In cooperation with Atwood United, we will be offering a Youth Book Club bi-monthly starting this Fall. Fiction provides an engaging way to encounter moral dilemmas, learn about other people’s life experiences, and consider some of the big questions of our faith. This Book Club is for youth in Grades 6 and up. Contact the church to find out how to get a copy of the next book (all books are borrowed through the Perth County Library System so they are available free of charge).

Bible Studies

Trinity believes that we are all called to continue to grow in our faith throughout our lifetime. Various opportunities for adult study are offered throughout the year in different times and formats.

This Fall, we will be looking at how churches not only survive but thrive in our current challenging context using the book “Thriving Churches: Urban and Rural Successes” by Loraine MacKenzie Shepherd as our jumping off point. This study will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. in October and November. In October, we will meet in Atwood and, in November, we will meet at Trinity. We’ll skip Hallowe’en night. Contact the church to sign up or for more information.

While we do sometimes offer traditional Bible Studies, we often focus on topics that are prevalent today. Whether it’s exploring contemporary fiction or spiritual practices or questions like “why do we go to church?” we seek to engage with current social and faith issues to further our understanding of the world. This also opens up different pathways into personal reflection and prayer.

Please contact the church office or check out our most recent newsletter to see what is being offered at the moment.

United Church Women’s Group

The United Church Women’s Group (UCW) meets regularly for fellowship and education. They also provide leadership for many successful fundraising events, such as luncheons and dinners. Our UCW is a strong contributor to our annual mission and community projects which include Optimism Place, and cookies for Camp Bimini. At Christmas time, our UCW members visit the local nursing homes taking a small gift to the residents.

For meeting dates and times, please view the events calendar.
